Home Ministry to deal with Britain if action needed against Rewcastle-Brown

PETALING JAYA: The Home Ministry will deal with the British government if legal action needs to be taken against Sarawak Report founder Clare Rewcastle-Brown, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic).
“It will largely depend on ongoing investigations by the police.
“Bukit Aman has a good relationship with Britain’s Scotland Yard so any follow-up action, including extradition, can be done smoothly if need be,” the Home Minister said in a statement on Saturday.
Dr Ahmad Zahid was commenting on allegations that Rewcastle-Brown had interfered with Malaysia’s internal affairs.
“On the principal of ‘sovereignty’ that is respected between nations, I am sure the British Government does not condone any of its citizens meddling in the issues or matters of other countries.
“Although we celebrate freedom of speech, we will not tolerate any information that is altered or fabricated.
“It is even more so if Brown’s online news is published with ulterior motives or bad intentions,” he said.
