Home Ministry mulls new law to replace Emergency Ordinance

KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Ministry is planning to put forward a new legislation to replace the Emergency Ordinance (EO) law after it was abolished in 2011. Its minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi said the abolishment of EO has caused a lot of criminals to escape prosecution.

“These criminals who are backed by big, crime organisations could hire good lawyers and get away from serving jailtime” he said at a walkabout in Chow Kit Cure & Care centre.
