KUALA LUMPUR: The coming Umno general assembly should not be an avenue for party delegates to stir up opposing views among each other, says Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said Deputy Prime Minister and Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will address the spokespersons appointed by each state liaison committee on Nov 27.
“He will speak to them on the guidelines of debating the motions and ask them not to touch on sensitive issues whether it is within or out of the party.
“This is not a time to stir up differences in opinion among the delegates and members,” Ahmad Zahid told reporters after receiving National Security Adviser to the British Prime Minister, Sir Nigel Kim Darroch in his office at the Parliament building Thursday.
